Parenting Conference Announcement
Madison Birth Center is proud to announce our Second Annual Conference: "Exploring Possibilities in Parenting." This exciting day-long event will be held at the Marriott Conference Center in Middleton on Saturday, September 18, 2004. We welcome nationally acclaimed speakers Ariel Gore, Dr. Bob Sears and Aviva Jill Romm, who will each lead multiple workshops of interest to parents. An expert panel will also discuss childhood immunizations.

We have organized this conference to provide flexibility for busy families, so you may register to participate in the full day or only a portion of the event. Childcare and an extensive program of children's activities are available during the afternoon session.

Space is limited, so we encourage you to register early! For more information, or to register online, please visit our website.

Conference Speaker Profile: Dr. Bob Sears
Robert W. Sears, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician in private practice with his father (Bill) and his brother (Jim) in San Clemente, California. Dr. Sears earned his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1995. He did his pediatric internship and residency at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, finishing in 1998. Having had the privilege to help raise two active boys, Dr. Bob has grown fond of the "parenting" side of pediatrics.

Dr. Bob Sears is co-author of The Baby Book: Everything You Need to Know about Your Baby from Birth to Age Two, considered by many to be the "baby bible" of the post-Dr. Spock generation. The Baby Book addresses the questions of greatest concern to today's parents and presents a practical, contemporary approach to parenting that reflects the way we live today. This well-regarded book offers the basic guidance and inspiration you need to develop the parenting style that best suits you and your child.

At our "Exploring Possibilities in Parenting" conference, Dr. Sears will present three workshops: Attachment Parenting; Behavior and Discipline; and Co-Sleeping. He will also participate on our expert panel discussing Childhood Immunization. Don't miss this excellent opportunity to interact with one of the leading parenting specialists in the nation. Register early to be sure you can attend the workshops of your choice!
