Edgewood Nursing Students in the "Earth Mother/Birth Mother" class participated in Postpartum Doula training at MBC in February 2005. Facilitated by Mary Sommers and Aszani Kunkler, this training prepared students for the work of supporting postpartum mothers and babies.
In the last class, four new mothers also participated with infants of varying ages, from one week to six months old.
One of the activities included teaching the students how
to wear an infant in a sling. Tazza Woditschka (on the
left, above) demonstrated baby wearing to class participants.
Different sized babies need different sling set-ups.
